Lang’ata Women Maximum Security Prison celebrates World Peace day.

World Peace Day was all about celebrating peace, respect, safety, and dignity for all.Whichever way one chose to celebrate it, the peace-themed day was filled with excitement. At Langata Women’s Prison in Nairobi, the day was memorable as warders, prisoners and their families and friends mingled, danced and exchanged gifts.

The day  is celebrated annually on the 21st, September  every year

Speaking during the Celebrations the Officer-In-Charge Madam Olivia Obeli urged Kenyans to speak and spread peace especially this period that we are having a repeat of presidential elections.

Inmates led by Prisons’ Officer dance to the peace rhythm

Police Officer Godwin Kwach well Known as Qwachezz who is a music composer recording artist and actor entertains the guests.

Displays of some of the fashions made by inmates including ladies handbags, dresses and ‘lesos’.
