The different faces of the late James Nderitu Gachagua (PHOTOS)
  • The late Nyeri Governor James Nderitu Gachagua becomes the first county boss to die in office
  • Gachagua died at a London hospital on Friday, February 24 where he had been receiving treatment.

He had been known to be suffering from cancer with rumours of his death dominating his stay in office. He missed key political functions including President Uhuru Kenyatta’s week-long stay in the county in March 2016.

Before becoming governor, he served as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Mathira constituency.
