AY ft Nyashinski – More and More

There’s a lot of conflicting feelings that ‘More and More’ rouse. It’s not a sub-par song by any measure, it’s actually quite catchy, but you get the feeling that the song could be a lot better than it is. The beat is great, produced by Beatz Studios & Hermy B at B’Hitz and that might be this song’s saving grace. Lyrically speaking, it’s not the best content that either of the artistes attached to this tune have done, we are waiting on the video still.

Femi One ft. Kristoff – Tippy Toe

While we anticipated Femi One to only release the hardest of bars in the wake of ‘Pilau Njeri’ apparently that is not to be. ‘Tippy Toe’ is not necessarily a song about anything, it’s a club song, it’s a pre-game song, and it’ll hit for about three weeks and be on its way. Produced by Jack on the Beat and directed by Johnson Kyalo, It’s a fun tune, no doubt about that and this collaboration between Femi One and Kristoff should make sense but it feels a tad empty.

Qritiqal – Malkia

Kenya’s second Chocolate City signee Qritiqal finally releases the visuals to his surprising hit ‘Malkia’. The audio is still as smooth as ever, the video is minimalist but it works, the girl in the song, after all is, “not a hoodrat girl.” Seeing as this is the first release from the artiste we can only imagine what else is in store for the year.
