Avril, Darassa collaboration scrapped

Kenyan songstress Avril and Bonga flava artiste Darassa, who were set to work on an upcoming project together, have abandoned their collaboration citing problems with Wanene studio as the cause for the cancellation. Darassa in a statement to Natty E of Jembe FM said, “The project that I am working on with Avril, is one of the projects that is in development ‘prison’. We can’t release it because we do not want to interfere with procedures that other people have put up and we don’t other people to interfere with our procedures. The Avril project cannot be delivered because we recorded it in a studio that some confusion arose out of in terms of our agreements.” Avril has gone on to say that she might take a while before working with another Bongo flava musician.

When asked by a fan about the hairdo on her Twitter account, the singer mentioned she had wanted to get dreads for a while now, “since I was 14, but mama Fent’z wasn’t havin it! Hehe.”
