 Oliver Mtukudzi, Suzanna Owiyo thrill in Kisumu

Legendary Zimbabwe musician Oliver Mtukudzi thrilled hundreds of fans in Kisumu over the weekend belting out his worldwide hits one at a time with so much ease. The concert held at the Acacia premier hotel saw a unique treat with Mtukudzi lauding the reception by the fans.  ”This is truly an honour for me to be back in Kenya again, every time I come here am amazed by the love the Kenyan people show me. I am excited particularly to be performing in Kisumu for the first time. I have sampled the fish fresh from the famous Lake Victoria and I must say it’s the best,” Said Oliver.

Suzanna Owiyo’s Kisumu 100 was the night’s show stopper as fans sang along to every word of the song that is very popular in the region.

Kenya Glamour awards releases list of 2016 nominees 

The Kenya Glamour awards powered by Jumia has released a full list of nominees for 2016. Voting for the 100+ nominees in this year’s Jumia Kenya Glamour Awards is currently open to the public with the selection featuring a host of personalities from the world of fashion, entertainment, TV and music among others and seeking to recognize art and talent. This year’s event will be held at the Boma hotel on the 1st of October 2016 with musical and comic performances by established and upcoming artists starting from 6pm. “When you support art and talent, you inspire a generation. We are humbled to be part of this inspiration for the second year running and we hope through it, thousands of people will find the courage to follow their talent and dreams,” read a statement from Jumia. 

Game of thrones stars at 2016 Emmys

The Emmy Awards were handed out in Los Angeles last night, with Game of Thrones the night’s big winner, taking 12 awards in total. Game of Thrones and Veep have taken home the Emmy awards for Outstanding Drama Series and Outstanding Comedy Series, respectively. It’s the second year in a row for both shows. Only FX’s limited series The People V. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story scored more hardware Sunday, taking home five awards including Outstanding Limited Series. Veep and Amazon’s Transparent were the only other multiple winners on the night with two apiece.
