Kibaki Discharged From Hospital

Former President Mwai Kibaki has now been discharged from Netcare Sunninghill Hospital in Johannesburg, South Africa where he was admitted a week ago.

Netcare is a top South African hospital that prides itself in having the best cardiology facilities in the country.

He is however expected to recuperate for a few more days before returning to Kenya.

A statement from State House sent by the retired president’s family states:

“Former President Mwai Kibaki is in jovial and high spirits. He will continue to recuperate for a few more days before returning home”.

Kibaki was taken ill at his Muthaiga home on the 20th of August, he was admitted at the Karen Hospital before he was flown to South Africa the following morning.

Kibaki underwent a successful surgery last week on Thursday to remove a blood clot in an artery on his neck, the doctors had recommended that he spend one more week at the hospital for further observation.
