3 ways to make your home look expensive

We don’t need to spend millions in buying a house and decorating to create a home that look like a million bucks. It’s all down to choosing the right looks and making small upgrades to make a big impact on the overall aesthetic of the home.

An often overlooked aspect of the home is the artwork that is placed inside it. Small, or even big pieces of art can completely change the way a living space. It’s hard to go wrong with panelled art, plus it makes a very impressive mark on the home. The great thing about art is that these days it’s very easy to get your hands on decent pieces without breaking the bank to do it. There exists hundreds of sites on the internet where you can download decent sized prints and put them up your walls.

Minimalism is key

Although warmer tones and maybe tons of furniture might give the feel of a cosy place, less is in fact more. Choose a colour scheme and do a play on that colour scheme. Naturally whites, blacks and greys are the safest option and they are also easy to work with. That doesn’t mean that the home should be filled with huge sweeping open spaces, but it should give the illusion of space and light.

Vases, sculptural pieces and interesting furniture should do the trick. Choose pieces that stand out but do not overwhelm a room. Books are indeed a great way to add some colour and depth into your living space, and don’t forget to add some foliage while you are at it.
