Africa’s Biggest Comedians Set to Thrill Nairobi at Debut Laugh Festival

Kenya’s most grand rib-cracking affair is set for Friday as Kenyan king of comedy Churchill hosts a versatile mix of Africa’s top comedians. From Uganda’s sensational comedian Salvado, Rwanda’s Nkusi Arthur, Zimbabwe’s Carl Ncube, DRC’s Eddie Kadi, South Africa’s Ndumiso Lindi to Malawi’s Daliso Chaponda at the inaugural Laugh Festival.

The debut laugh Festival that will be held at the Carnivore Gardens is a platform unifying Africa’s comedy scene—a first of its kind from the Laugh Industry. The festival will also see an amazing selection of Churchill Show comedians: MC Jessy, Hammo, Sleepy and Aman making special appearances. With over 15 years’ experience in the comedy industry, Laugh Industry has seen the need to venture beyond Kenya for a new experience to provide quality entertainment and bring African comedians on one platform. This new venture is also set to challenge local talent to compete with top African counterparts.

Bieber wannabe died of drug overdose

A man Who Spent $100K to Look Like Justin Bieber, Died of ‘Drug Intoxication,’ Autopsy Reveals. Tobias Strebel, who became famous for spending hundreds of thousands of dollars on plastic surgery in order to look like Justin Bieber, died from “multiple drug intoxication,” according to the autopsy report.

The Los Angeles Coroner reports that the lethal cocktail that ended his life included a mix of Valium, Xanax and alcohol. Furthermore, the report concludes that there was no apparent trauma or foul play involved. Strebel appeared on several reality TV shows, including E!’s Botched and TLC’s My Strange Addiction, after spending $100,000 on voluntary plastic surgery in an attempt to look like Bieber.

Kiwanuka’s music unpopular in Uganda 

Despite his Ugandan roots, Michael Kiwanuka’s music is not popular in his home country because his soul music style is not one of the loved music genres in the country. Soul singer Michael Kiwanuka whose roots are traced in Uganda made headlines a few days ago topping the UK album charts with his second album Love & Hate debuting at No. 1.

Kiwanuka beat Adele whose album Adele 25 is in the number two spot.

In sharp contrast, Adele’s music is popular in Uganda and her Hello has got a lot of rotation on radio, TV stations and even in night spots.
