Sauti Sol bags 5 Afrimma nominations

Kenya’s leading boy group Sauti Sol have been nominated in 5 categories in the Africa Muzik Magazine Awards that will take place in October. They have been nominated in Artist of the year, Best African Group, Best Male East Africa, their hit song “Unconditionally Bae” featuring Ali Kiba has been nominated for Song of the Year and Video of the year categories.

They are going up against some of Africa’s finest in the Best Male East Africa category, they face stiff competition from Diamond, Ali Kiba from Tanzania, Eddy Kenzo and Jose Chameleone from Uganda, Jacky Gosee from Ethiopia and Dynamiq from South Sudan

They will also battle it out against Tiwa Savage, Flavour, WizKid, Diamond Platinumz, Sarkodie, AKA and C4 Pedro for the prestigious award of Artist of The Year.

Other Kenyans who have been nominated include Enos Olik in Best Video Producer, DJ Joe Mfalme in Best DJ Africa, Visita for Music Producer of the Year, Octopizzo and King Kaka Sungura for Best Rap Act, STL for Crossing Boundaries With Music Award, Willy Paul for Best Gospel and Akothee who made her nomination debut in Best Female East Africa and Song of the year for her collaboration with Diamond in “My Sweet Love”.

The four-member boy band has had a successful year touring in Africa to promote their latest album “Live and die in Afrika”. They are arguably one of Kenya’s best musicians, they put the country on the global map when they were nominated for an MTV EMA, Best African Act, Channel O Music Video Awards and BET Awards 2015.
