DIY: Plant/ candleholder

With economic recession biting on almost everyone, budgets have become tight and spending on luxury items has become a thing of the past. This, however, does not mean that you can’t get artistic to complement the spending opportunity cost.

Here is an easy 10-minute project to improve the aesthetics of your home.

What you need:

  1. A bunch of large wooden cloth pegs.
  2. A short but wide metal container.
  3. Soil (if you want to use the end product as a plant holder)
  4. Candle and glass (if you want to use the end product as a candle holder.)

The process

Step 1: Begin by cleaning out your metallic container both inside and outside. If the container has painting on it, you can either scrape it off using sand paper or paint over it to get an even appearance.

Step 2: The next step involves mounting your wooden pegs all around the circumference of the container in the same way you fix pegs on clothes.

By now, your plant/ candleholder is already done.

Step 3: If you want to use the end product as a plant holder, this step involved spreading your soil inside the container and impaling your preferred plant.

If you want to use the end product as a candle holder, Place a glass right side up at the bottom of the container, place a candle inside and light it up!
