First Lady grateful for Beyond Zero support

First Lady Margaret Kenyatta has thanked Kenyans for supporting her Beyond Zero campaign by helping in raising funds to increase mothers and children access to health services. She said through their goodwill and that of the national and the county governments as well as the private sector, she has so far managed to deliver 41 fully kitted mobile clinics to the counties. The clinics are intended to take health services closer to communities to reduce maternal and child mortality.

City Hall courts to be decentralised

City Hall courts that handle petty offences like hawking, loitering and prostitution will be decentralised to other parts of Nairobi. The Legal Affairs Department of the Nairobi County Government has been allocated Sh65 million for the 2016/2017 financial year of which Sh40 million will be used in building the decentralised courts at Dagoretti, Kasarani and Embakasi. Cases of traffic offences and those to do with business licencing will also be heard at the courts whose establishment seeks to move services closer to the people.
